Terms of Service

These terms apply to the FocusLink app, operated by Martin Lutaaya in Berlin, Germany. Contact: support@focuslink.app. By using FocusLink, you agree to these Terms.

1. The app

FocusLink is a focus and productivity app that lets you run focus sessions, track your progress and, where available, use social features such as Buddies and shared sessions. Some features may change, be suspended or be removed over time.

2. Your account

FocusLink can be used without creating an account. If you enable Cloud Sync or use Buddies, a FocusLink account is created automatically for you. You may optionally link an Apple or Google account to sign in again on another device. You are responsible for the devices and sign-in accounts you use. One account is intended for one person and can be used on several of your devices.

3. Credits, themes and other in-app items

Credits, streak items, themes and timer rings are earned or unlocked within the app. They have no monetary value, cannot be exchanged for money and are not transferable. FocusLink does not sell credits, streak items or other progress for real money.

4. Tips

You can optionally leave a tip through the App Store to support development. Tips are voluntary payments processed by Apple; they do not buy a service, credits or any advantage. As a thank-you, any tip unlocks the supporter theme ("Aurum") on your account. Refunds are handled by Apple under the App Store terms. Your statutory rights are not affected.

5. Buddies and Shared sessions

Shared sessions have their own rules, which are shown in the app before you start. In particular: leaving a 1:1 session early ends it for both people and counts as a failed session, which may reset your streak and cost credits; leaving a group session early fails only your own session. An account can take part in one shared session at a time, on one device.

Your display name is visible to people who have your FocusLink ID and to your buddies. Do not use a name that is offensive, impersonates someone else or infringes the rights of others.

You must not use Buddies, pings, display names or group codes to harass, spam or otherwise abuse other users. We may restrict or remove social connections, shared sessions or accounts where reasonably necessary to prevent abuse or protect the service and its users.

6. Your Data

How we handle your personal data is described in the Privacy Policy. You can export your data, erase it, or delete your account at any time from Profile in the app.

7. Availability and Warranty

FocusLink is provided “as is” to the extent permitted by law. We aim to keep the app available and protect your data, but we cannot guarantee that the service will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free.

Cloud Sync is intended to keep your progress available across devices, but it should not be treated as a guaranteed backup service. If your data is important to you, use the available export function to keep your own copy.

8. Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is not permitted by applicable law. In particular, liability for intent, gross negligence, injury to life, body or health, and other mandatory statutory liability remains unaffected.

To the extent liability may legally be limited, we are liable only for foreseeable and typical damage caused by a breach of material contractual obligations.

9. Ending Use

You can stop using FocusLink at any time and delete your account and its cloud data from Profile → Danger Zone → Delete account. We may restrict or suspend access to accounts that materially violate these Terms or are used to abuse the service or other users.

10. Changes and Applicable Law

We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top shows when the current version was last updated. For material changes, we will provide appropriate notice where required.

German law applies, except where mandatory consumer protection laws in your country of residence provide otherwise. Nothing in these Terms affects mandatory consumer rights that apply to you.
